WinterWolf
I just am head scratching trying to understand why folks are't excited about 3 days of snow and over 6 inches in many areas. Especially this winter I'm totally cool with that idea! And like you said, this may creep back west a bit more. Bring it!!
Baroclinic Zone
Well the 4km is an all out blizzard. LOL. That would be fun
sfenn1117
I just am head scratching trying to understand why folks are't excited about 3 days of snow and over 6 inches in many areas. Especially this winter Spoiled. First we get a 10" paste bomb that came out of nowhere (one of the most scenic snows in recent memory) and now a NNE esque currier and Ives situation. Enjoy it Kev - we've been patient this winter.

Heisy
Ugh I'd honestly road trip since I'm off next 2 days, but my brakes on my car are bad right now. This looks like a douzy, amazing lead time changes this year on the models.
RUNNAWAYICEBERG
I just am head scratching trying to understand why folks are't excited about 3 days of snow and over 6 inches in many areas. Especially this winter Most of us are I think... just the usual debbie or jackpot fetish folks downplaying. With that said, from on objective standpoint I still have a difficult seeing adv level snows for w ct from the cane. Would like more ticks today and tonight to feel more confident. Damage In Tolland
days and days and days and days.... Ed Vallee @EdValleeWx 1h 1 hour ago It may very well snow for nearly 72 hours straight on Cape Cod Mon AM until Thursday AM. Regardless of intensity, that's pretty impressive. WinterWolf
I'll take my 5-7 inches on those NAM runs, and be very appreciative. I'd love to see it correct another 50-75 miles west and bring all SNE a beatin!!
Ginx snewx
It is the NAM, the WRF suites are pretty insane. Have to evaluate and see how this evolves today.
CTWeatherFreak
I just am head scratching trying to understand why folks are't excited about 3 days of snow and over 6 inches in many areas. Especially this winter I think its got to do with the fact that this event was modeled days ago as a huge event for much of the area, or, at least, a setup which could potentially deliver feet of snow for a wide swath; Compared to that, it might seem like a fail (for all but easterners) . Its all about expectations no matter how unrealistic..
dryslot
What was that again about getting no snow without any blocking? lol
Ginx snewx
Anyone notice how cold the Nam is at the surface, like 15-20 in Boston midday.
USCAPEWEATHERAF
I always thought the blocking was overrated
dryslot
I always thought the blocking was overrated To an extent it is, But further south need to rely on it more then up here, But it also helps to slow down some of these systems as well
USCAPEWEATHERAF
We still have KUs without blocking, so I am not overly concerned when there is no blocking.
RUNNAWAYICEBERG
I always thought the blocking was overrated Ridge placement has been perfect for eastern areas recently. That will change and eventually you'll have your shades closed at 35f while w and nw pounds. Until then, enjoy it man. Stack it up while you can. Hazey
I endorse this nam run. Too bad the nam only gets a storm right once every few winters and I think that already happened this winter so....
dan11295
How much further West can this realistically come? we are 24h before the start. I know the models never caught up with the last system (which was obviously different in evolution). Any validity to the idea that the positive SST anomalies are causing storms to correct NW very late on the models?
Baroclinic Zone
Insane amounts on both.

NorEastermass128
Insane amounts on both.I'll take the 4K NAM for 12-24 Alex. Wow! Though not expecting that. Still thinking 4-8" E of ORH. 2-4" W. 8"+ SEMA and or CC

lakeeffectkid383
Someone in SE MA along the western side of the coastal front could see up to 24" of snow from this storm maybe even a lolli to 3 feet if the storm slows down a bit. With winds gusting close to 100mph the whole SE area of New England may be shut down for weeks while we wait for the national guard to mobilize. USCAPEWEATHERAF
Lol Westerly, nah 100mph winds are only for the outer coastal waters of NC and SC.
jbenedet
As we saw with the MA blizzard last month, the mesos, may have an advantage resolving this very deep convection and how this translates into upper level height rises along the coast.
