CoastalWx
Look, its nice that we are going to have a snowy week....appreciate what we get, etc.....but give me a break with the Feb 1969 and Jan 2011 references. Its ok to not have a KU, but you kind of need to have heavy snow to compare this to some of the snowiest months in history. I mean, why weren't there more Earl and 1938 comparisons? Looks like Feb '78 to me more and more.
Heisy
Kind of amazing in a way that the interaction between these 2 short waves was so close to an East coast HECS. Speed up the 2nd trough and it could have phased and captured the low. Good luck with the system though the cape should have a fun time
40/70 Benchmark
Geez Ray, lay off. We are enjoying this period of weather in an otherwise gloomy like predictions for this winter to begin with. Go over to Accuweather, then. This can be enjoyed without delusions of grandeur.
Go Kart Mozart
If this southern streamer had been 12 hours slower: We would be boarding our windows. Sandbagging coastal flood prone areas. The grocery stores would be a mad house. Governors would be mobilizing the National Guard. It would be a Walt Drag narrative come to life.

40/70 Benchmark
Don was the first I saw (besides James of course) who uttered the B word Now it has been used by many for the Cape Well, he never specified what he meant....the strict definition of a blizzard, sure....but he was walking 1-2' amounts, too. Should be nasty out there, sure.

40/70 Benchmark
It would have been one for the ages if timing had worked out for us with this storm. This season could easily be having a second blizzard baring down......but it isn't. This season would have bee remembered far differently, but still should save face imo. USCAPEWEATHERAF
Yeah Steve, they also either mentioned more snow to come for ACK or Cape Cod in the forecasts. NAM looks more northwest with the precip shield, but I am only three hours into the snowstorm.
RUNNAWAYICEBERG
I'm not in this forum to uphold a status. I weenie out when deem necessary, if the event fits why not comment on it. Sorry if I offend, its not my intention. It's all fun for me but not for all I guess. It's coming...put that in your pipe! Don, no one at all is offended....but what fits?? The month was the snowiest in history for much of the area....had the largest event in recorded history for many, and featured one of the most negative NAO readings on record. Calling every event you see a KU is every bit as ill advised as demanding one every week. They both featured days of snow....the comparison ends there. I mean.....its like comparing a a severe thunderstorm to hurricane Andrew because they both featured heavy rain and wind. This is Acuwxf forum worthy. USCAPEWEATHERAF
HE said it looks similar to that event, he isn't saying it is that event. Ray it isn't a big deal, I see your point, but it isn't a big deal for most of us. We know what he is saying.
