WeatherNC
Rates will overcome all (12z PGFS)... DYNAMIC COOLING. It has a ridiculous storm at the end of its run (hr 360-384). QPF bomb. SW VA and the N NC foothills get demolished. May have some mixing issues east of 95 with that 10C warm nose punching in.
Cold Rain
This weather phenomenon, which has been a common occurrence in recent years, frequently interrupts the southerly transport of cold air necessary for southeast winter storms: The question I was looking for was, "What is the Great Lakes Low?" You are all now $1000 in the hole.
Cold Rain
I'm all-in for the D16 12z Parallel GFS mega-overrunning event. You in or out? There's no time to waste!!!!! In! I love flooding.
kvegas-wx
WTF!!! Fab Feb starts off with thunderstorms rolling thru the Triad??? Looks like August late afternoon severe outside my door right now. Pretty black. Mother Nature and Old Man Winter have clearly split up and are headed for divorce court. I just hope he gets to keep the Euro or we'll never hear Burger go BOOM again!!

WeatherNC
Most important 0z runs in the history of the Internet on tap. Things I will be looking for... Lack of consistency, low pressure ivo the Great Lakes, and any random model which shows snow in my backyard. Saddle up!

mackerel_sky
Atleast we get a nice rain bomb on Monday, to usher in a nice cool and dry blast! But it's good to see the possibilities there! I mean the GL low could dissapear, and temps trend 10 degrees colder for Monday , I'm all in!

SnowNiner
Everyone has given up. The February discussion thread is a ghost town. Just nothing to track but a cold and dry hit next week. After that is just too far out. The last two years, we've seemed to score in late February with these +PDO/+PNA/-EPO regimes. Maybe we get a threat then. I'm thinking the last week in February. But in any event, we had a nice little glancing blow event two weeks ago so not hating this winter if nothing else pans out.

CherokeeGA
Phil didn't see his shadow. Spring is just around the corner. Sad but true. Another crappy "winter" here imby. I'm sure someone will jump in and say "BUT! MARCH 1993!!1111!!1!1!". Um, whatever, friends. That was super rare and we aren't likely to see anything like it again in our lifetimes. Here's hoping for a calm and quiet spring, and few to no landfalling 'canes this year.

La Nina definitely was kind to us in 2010-11.
POWERSTROKE
Phil didn't see his shadow. Spring is just around the corner. I am glad I don't follow a groundhog for winter weather. All models show cold coming back so whether we get a storm or not spring will be a ways off. However if wintry weather is done then bring on spring
Brick Tamland
So what are we missing? What is keeping us from having more snow in this supposedly great setup that had mets predicting us getting 150% of normal snowfall here? Or does our weather these days just not work the same as it did in the past with similar setups?
