A guy on TW said horrible Euro run. Not sure if he's talking about the clipper system or weekend system.

Both and the days after til the end of the run! Dumpster fire, a day or two next week with highs in the upper 30s to 40s, then back to normal or above! Hello spring! Old punxy Phil is about 50% more accurate than JB

The EURO run is not a dumpster fire.. Did you even look at it?

Clipper system I think. Anyway, those never work out for us. More importantly, very little chance south of I-40 for a late winter storm, so I a begin the long suffering wait through Spring, Summer and Fall.

so this will make 4 out of the last 5 winters here with little to no snow. This is about as bad as the 2003-2007 period. At least we had a light dusting this winter. I guess that is better than nothing. Winters since 2009 have been either feast or famine. We either have a lot of snow or none at all.

I was reading the storm thread and all o hear is the models suck.. well they only suck cause its not showing much for western nc.. the coast and coastal plains finally get a shot at some snow.. if it was showing snow for western nc this board would be crazy busy.. west nc already had their snowstorm now its east ncs chance at a little wintry precip.

yeah yeah. That's what they said at this exact same time last year. Of course it worked out for you.

It's the second best month of the winter for you.  You may not get snow, but you're not in a very snowy climo location.  It is what it is.  Roll with it, sir.

I average around 4 times more snow than your location, I believe, so it's going to snow a lot more here over the long run.  That's equivalent of me complaining that I didn't get as much snow this year as Providence, RI or something.

I know I'm not in a snowy location, but is it too much to ask for an average season ? 2 inches ? Heck areas near Dallas got over a foot last year and I got a few flurries. I mean can I even get half of average ? I don't think 1" is asking for much.

Just keep in mind that your median snowfall is likely significantly under your mean, so your area's "typical" winter likely isn't 2".

Our median snowfall isn't as high as our mean snowfall, either.  That's the way it is in the South.

probably true, but I'm sure my median snowfall is at least 1-1.5".

Banter is Banter learning, and following the models as ENC members tell me that we here in ENC benefit from the storm 100- 150 off the coast.  Looking at the models posted as of this minute, does it seem possible to get a good hit of snow for Havelock/New Bern or do I have to sit back and watch my son in UNCW enjoy the snow.  Seems to be a big question is...How close to the NC coast is too close for snow.  Thanks to all the SME's
