RickinBaltimore
Come on spring! Love snow and all, but I love being able to sit outside and relax listening to the O's game while grilling, or taking the boys to the park and so on.

WxUSAF
What are strong Nino springs usually like? Isn't March usually a torch? March 2010 certainly was.

EastCoast NPZ
What are strong Nino springs usually like? Isn't March usually a torch? March 2010 certainly was. Was it? I don't remember it being that warm until the beginning of April (when temps went straight to 90F and stayed for the next 6 months). Of course, it didn't snow after Feb. 10. ohwxguy
FWIW, the CPC just issued its 3 month outlook yesterday that covers March, April, and May. The outlook calls for increased chances for above normal temps in the Mid-Atlantic region and average to perhaps slightly above average chances for precipitation. While I enjoy a good snowstorm, unless it's big enough to shut down the federal government, I'm ready for spring. Wish I could have above normal temps in March, normal in April, and near to slightly below normal in May (and have well below normal temps June - August... oh how I loathe summer heat & humidity in this miserable swamp that is Washington, DC). Instead with my luck we'll probably have the opposite.
North Balti Zen
Every time I see murmuring about "flooding warmth" in the long range thread I get a small grin. Oh please.

I don't remember it being that warm until the beginning of April (when temps went straight to 90F and stayed for the next 6 months). Of course, it didn't snow after Feb. 10. It wasn't record breaking but it was a pretty good departure at the airports. That month kicked off the three years of torcherous hell here. ohwxguy
Unless the cold leads to a snowstorm or ice storm big enough to shut the federal government down, I'm anxious for spring to arrive. It was wonderful to go out for a run both Saturday morning and this afternoon instead of settling for the awful treadmill. I have the Cherry Blossom 10 Mile Run and a half marathon in the next 10 weeks, so bring on spring!
