What a sweet burst. Should move out quickly but we'll see if we get regenerating -SN overnight as models show.

RGEM and GFS half inch of QPF may have trouble though looking at radar.

Half inch may be a stretch- but there is some upstream moisture. The 'Dacks, as always, make it hard to see until it really comes over the top.

I remember a few weeks ago- the moisture just seemed to sit west of the CPV and downslope/dry out for hour after hour. Nothing came over here.  The localized weather here can be crazy.

Some of those radar returns- Jay Peak vicinity looks to be getting pounded. Mansfield is probably doing alright as well.

Yeah the upper elevations would do well with this...like 1" per hour here is probably 2" per hour at 3,000ft in this case. Especially with the dry air at the surface. Can tell looking at the RH if it's 75% at 750ft, 90% at 1,500ft, and 100% at the picnic tables...they probably just got an hour of chokingly heavy snow up there with those squall-like echoes.

MVL with +SN 1/4sm.

We picked up a tenth and it has stopped now LOL.

Living in Winooski, you should get used to it. Move to Underhill, you'll have a different experience.

Looking upstream, the mountains may do well tonight. Time will tell.

3" even on the board at 1,500ft last night.  Had 2" at home at 750ft.  Groomers reporting 5" up high.

First time in a very long time that I had the pleasure of driving to work in snowfall with snowpacked roads.

Great density to it...not fluff and not wet.  Just good quality synoptic snow probably 10:1.

Jay Peak looked to be a bit more into it and they are likewise reporting 6" overnight.

2 inches of packing snow at base of Sugarbush. Crazy thing is that people are standing in line at the lift like it is a powder day. Upper lifts on wind hold. You can hear it roaring up top.

Crazy. No wind here for the most part, all lifts good.

Best day in probably three weeks. Perfect density.

4.5" at 3000ft.

Going for fourth run as of 8:10am.

Event totals: 1.9” Snow/0.14” L.E.

Snow started up yesterday evening with a strong initial burst, and then was on and off at times.  I cleared 0.7” from the snowboards at midnight and we presumably got another decent round of steadier precipitation to reveal another 1.2” this morning.  Our forecast down here in the valley for this part of the storm was calling for 1-3”, so this seems right on track with what was expected.

Details from the 12:00 A.M. Waterbury observations:

New Snow: 0.7 inches

New Liquid: 0.0.06 inches

Snow/Water Ratio: 11.7

Snow Density: 8.6% H2O

Temperature: 30.7 F

Sky: Light Snow (1-4 mm flakes)

Snow at the stake: 4.0 inches

Details from the 6:00 A.M. Waterbury observations:

New Snow: 1.2 inches

New Liquid: 0.08 inches

Snow/Water Ratio: 15.0

Snow Density: 6.7% H2O

Temperature: 34.3 F

Sky: Cloudy

Snow at the stake: 5.0 inches

Stowe: 5”

Bolton Valley: 2”

Pico: 3”

Killington: 3”

Okemo: 3”

Bromley: 2”
