IsentropicLift
In case anyone cares, the 06z GEFS mean was drier than 00z. The 09z SREF weren't terrible but you'd probably want them to be sending the low to Buffalo at this range.
IsentropicLift
If this is your typical UKMET bias of being too progressive and too far Southeast will Miller A's then this is coming West.
nyblizz44
Weak and way OTS. The Northern stream energy helps to punt it offshore quickly. Perfectly fine, this Southern stream Euro turf. Will wait till 1 please and when it shows further NW trend we can all smile
Ericjcrash
I don't like the looknof the northern energy, just quickly kicks everything east.
SnoSki14
This could end up being a non factor and just harmlessly go OTS but I could also see it sneaking up on people within a couple days of the event like how Boxing Day did but nowhere near that level. Gfs has been alternating back and forth and we won't know for sure what's going to happen until Wednesday.

WeatherFeen2000
I think this threat is dead. It's either a New England threat or out to sea. Sorry fellas we all want more but from my personal experience this will be a non event and I'm usually optimistic about potentials.
NYCGreg
Might be true that this is dead, but what else is there to even track at this point?

allgame830
Most models take this east now. Hopefully February has some chances for us I wouldn't give up on it just yet. UKMET was not far and it usually is SE because of its bias... lets see what the EURO shows at 1 because the ensembles were rather encouraging.... Yea but this type of storm is more its bread and butter. Just because it didn't fair well last storm does not mean it will have the same outcome this time around. EURO does not fail to often. IsentropicLift
The 12z Euro is now digging this trough all the way to the Pacific coast of Mexico.
allgame830
The 12z Euro is now digging this trough all the way to the Pacific coast of Mexico. How is that different from 00z run and would that be good or bad?
mranger48
I'm going with No Bueno. Energy will get hung back instead of running out ahead of the northern stream to pull the trough negative when it gets to east coast. Correct? NYCGreg
Sucks, but can't win 'em all. Maybe it'll change for the better, but even if it doesn't, pretty hard to complain after the storm we just had.

IsentropicLift
The energy is trending more amplified in the base of the trough. In fact, the Euro even closes off a 500mb briefly over SW Texas. We'd be better off having that energy cut off down there and wait for the next Northern stream wave instead. Also not helping us is that the Northern stream energy is quite a bit stronger than the last event so instead of phasing it's acting more like a kicker punting away a football. IsentropicLift
18z GFS is now about 500 miles offshore. Time to lock this thread up. IMO people jumped the gun here because of what happened last weekend.

ag3
Told you. Trough is too far east. Was never a threat, despite what the shaky Euro/Euro Ensembles were showing.
