Portions in Virginia are going to smash the predicted totals with the fire hose focused right on them with good ratios...

Some areas down there reporting 5" already and were only forecasted 1-3" for entire event... Insane.

Unfortunately I think this is at our expense, because the storm is still going to take the same track.

Have a dusting. I guess later on this afternoon it'll snow briefly before skeet, then zr, then a crapload of rain. It'll be close to 40 by tomorrow morning, lol.

This was never really our storm, I can't get too worked up on it being of little consequence here.

This became a VA snowstorm with part one of the storm. I doubt we see much in the way of precipitation until later afternoon given radar trends.

Despite todays let down...quite encouraged by the long range look.  2/25 has been looking great for the last couple days.  06z GFS out to 384 is pure weenie porn.  Don't look before you take your heart pills....

I know some of you will be glad to get rid of me come spring....but from the looks of it....it ain't over yet gang.

Looking forward to trackin some more...

I'd like you to stick around through April. Then let the warmongers enjoy their season.

Looking at one around the region and correlating with short range guidance, it looks like an icy depiction for those along the 81 corridor and even east of that. Warm nose is heading north as I speak, but so far it's creeping and not screaming just yet. Once we get the 2nd portion of storm, it'll be much quicker with the WAA, but the CAD wedge will be reluctant to move for awhile after the flip. Will see how it plays out.

Not really doing anything in Harrisburg that i can tell, a coating of snow early. I've been outside most of the morning, it feels much colder today then yesterday. I'm curious to how this works out later, to see how long the cold hangs out. Its pretty raw right now. I'm kinda anticipating issues with the roads, at least briefly.

Schools are letting out early, probably not a bad decision.

My wife has to drive to East Stroudburg University tomorrow, leaving Harrisburg around 10 am-ish. Any guidance up that for what to expect, or is it probably wise to cancel the trip? I fully expect down here for it to be 40 abd pouring rain so no ice issues here by then, ha.

going to be wet over that way.  Storm path will be west of East Str.  Might have early morning icing, but I'd think it'd be ok until storm gets to the north....then they will get into possible wraparound as cold filters back into the storm tomorrow eve.
