pasnownut
And now the 18z GFS is like "what storm?" west of 81 or so. all but chester county up to NYC and points east go above freezing before precip pulls out. We all stay frozen (or some sort of...) I'm not telling where the jackpot is.....dont want to get hit.... Remember...its just a model run... NortheastPAWx
NAM has a moderate front-end thump to rain for eastern areas. Western areas look to be a decent shot of IP/ZR. Of note is that hours 81-84 try to turn some areas back to heavy snow as the storm pulls away.
Santa Clause
It's going to produce our best shot at solid advisory snow up here. I'll be happy.

MillvilleWx
Sounds like a ton of accidents around HBG. I don't understand how people can't drive in the smallest snow storms. It really isn't that difficult.
canderson
Here is my dress plan for tomorrow's funeral. Honest question, how concerned should I be of frostbite? Funeral us at 11 in Pottsville. Undershirt, undershirt thermal, button up shirt, tie, sweater, suit jacket, overcoat. Thernal underwear, suit pants, double socks. Scarf, fedora, gloves, handwarmers
NortheastPAWx
True Central PA is going to love the 0z GFS. 81 corridor esp 80N is VERY close to a big wintry event....whether it be snow or ice is hard to tell.

paweather
Major Ice storm for SC PA on 0z GFS
NortheastPAWx
CMC looks pretty good for the eastern areas of this subforum, including further north along 81. My only worry is that the 0C 850 line might get above while the surface line remains below, thus potential ice storm
canderson
I may be reading the GFS incorrectly but to me it looks like MDT sees 3/4-1" of freezing rain. If I'm reading right that's a damn near catastrophe.
Blizzard of 93
GFS has 4-6 inches of snow for the LSV before mix/change over. 12z Euro Para model also had about 6 inches for the LSV & about 12 inches near State College/Altoona. Any word on how the squall line tonight is doing so far ? Should this hold up for the LSV ?
MillvilleWx
GFS was good for snow up to the central I80 corridor and I don't even want to talk about the ice storm in SC PA down to my neck of the woods. Needless to say, I rooting hard against that. I kind of like having power and all that jazz.

Blizzard of 93
0z Euro has 5 inches of snow at Harrisburg before change over & around 10 inches at State College/Altoona. It looks like a consensus is building on the models. It will be interesting to watch this evolve this weekend.
MillvilleWx
GFS continues to show a hellacious ice storm for SC PA down toward western Adams and Franklin counties. Low pressure follows straight up I95 and keeps cold air locked in at the surface through the entire storm until the very end.
