wxwonder1
I have never seen heavy snow for such a long period of time like this. We have been in great bands all day. Biggest storm I can remember. 31" Ashburn. Belmont Ridge Rd and Broadlands Blvd.
Tater Tot
I don't want this to end. I know. And we have some fool on Fox 5 talking bout "I think we're all ready for this to start wrapping up!" @ whoever that guy is:
wawarriors4
I can barely see anything out my window now. Whiter than the front row of a Mumford and Sons concert. Cant see down to the end of my street which is 300 yards

Scarlet Pimpernel
RAP is even more aggressive this latest run. another ~0.45 for DC, and end time of the good stuff pushed back to 7-8pm Yeah, the RAP holds even lighter precip through midnight, from the looks of it. I'm only viewing the somewhat lower resolution view on Instant Wx Maps...looks like it tries to get around 0.50"+ precip in the DC metro area through the end (the dark blue color), and ~5-6" snow. But like I said, that may not be the best resolution and I'm eyeballing it. Either way, a good amount still left to come it appears!
Siberian-Snowcover-Myth
I see RIC airport is up to it's ole shennanagins....... I saw a report that they are officially measuring 6". Scarlet Pimpernel
I cleared a some spots and started adding to a previous #. Pretty much what I've resorted to. I think it's the only way. Had to do that for Feb. 9-10, 2010 as well because it was otherwise nearly impossible to measure.

RichmondTarHeel
Just went for a walk in complete whiteout conditions. Snow past my knees and I'm 6'5. Some drifts well past my waist up to my chest. Currently getting some of the heaviest snow I've seen in Herndon. This is an amazing storm.

I live literally 3 miles from there and I have 11". Agreed. Unless that 6" of NEW snow which it might be. I'm 3 miles south east of airpoirt.. and have picked up 7" of new snow today. 5" yesterday of snow. 2.5" sleet. Then 7" since then. 13.5" snow total so far. Jebman
The precip should wrap up from the SW to the NE. So in that direction. The backedge is not progressing west yet, however, because the low is stalled over the DelMarva. I realize that I am sick. I'm really SICK. But I want that low to stay stalled for at least a week. I've never wanted something as bad as I want that low over the Delmarva to stall out for days and days.

Scarlet Pimpernel
Look how the bands dropping in from PA have filled in the radar in western MD. I noticed that. I've also been eyeing the western edge progression and it's moved very slowly or is nearly stationary as far as I can tell.

Probably some of the best snow I've ever seen. Went for a walk and took some photos/videos. Definitely whiteout conditions. Awesome stuff!!
