SomeguyfromTakomaPark
Central Park is at 14.7. DCA is at 14.9. NYC is going to get way more than DC. They have a legit shot at their all-time record.

Joshfsu123
Moderate SN, gotten darker out... decent rates at least... still small flakes but moderate sized flakes are mixed in. if this continues for a few hours, can get another 2-3 inches out of it. RichmondTarHeel
28" in Ashburn, VA Near route 7 and Ashburn Village Blvd. Still snowing heavy with 1/8 vsby Would it be safe to steal that measurement from you and subtract an inch or two for my area in Herndon? Heavy snow here as well, can barely see the park across the street.

Deck Pic
18z RAP has about 0.35" left for DC, and HRRR a little less. Probably about 3-4 hours left of good stuff for DC before we go back to -SN/flurries
WxUSAF
Mattie's comment about +SN is well taken. Through this entire storm, I'd say I've only had brief intervals of <1/4mi vis and I'd report that as +SN BLSN if I was taking an ob. Just lots and lots of 1/2mi vis for this storm. JonathanW
Heres a few pics I took. There is not a whole lot of areas around my house I can get to. I am 6 feet tall and the snow comes up to my crotch while trying to walk in it: Front porch view Blizzard of 2016.jpg View from my front porch. There are 3 cars in my driveway including an F150 which is behind the drift you see. 20160123_132828.jpg View from the edge of my driveway. Drift on one of my cars is to the right. Neighbors house across the street. This drift is 8 feet high. 20160123_132712.jpg Other side of drift. There is a car under there that my ass has to dig out tomorrow. Ridiculous. I will take more pics once the snow stops. But as of right now it's still dumping. Next measurement at 3:00 Great pictures. Similar situation around my house - I went out about an hour and a half ago to take measurements, and it was not an easy task (drifts making it worse). NorthArlington101
Meh, I'll call it SN. Visibility is low and not all of the flakes are the size of a gnat. Probably just gonna measure whatever happens here to the end at once and see how much we can pick up.
Ger
Central Park is at 14.7. DCA is at 14.9. Would people please with the CPK and DCA comparison? Central Park is the in the centra (no pun) part of the city on parkland. DCA is the airport.
LakeEffectKing
Was really hoping for DCA to hit 20. I knew even if things worked out, it wouldn't break the 28 inch record as low temp and snowfall records at national are almost impossible given its location. There's still a chance of a couple more inches though. Maybe 17 inches? That's not bad.DCA will surpass 20".....and then some...
