JonathanW
weather channel showing the surfact low right on the mouth of chesapeake with the upper level low making its way across southern va. the cloud tops were impressive all the way back to the mountains. pretty cool actually. the rest of the afternoon should be pretty fun. GREarth's mesoanalysis data is showing the surface low deepening and actually wobbling toward shore at the moment (it's actually a double SLP, with the western low moving toward shore). That would be consistent with my station pressure dropping roughly 1.5 mbar in 3 hours.
North Balti Zen
Anyone from Baltimore City want to post their totals? Trying to guess when Hopkins will open next week. 19 inches in Roland park as of 12:15 - will check again around 2 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
KAOS
Winners are always positive. Try being in a dry slot since 5am and having something good to say while everyone else is counting inches. I am in the same boat. Been up since 5am for nothing.
MN Transplant
19.0" @ 1:30pm Streets plowed and passable. Not really that bad out. In 2010 it was 4 days before a plow even attempted to do our street. Little worried that OPM will be open Monday.
vance1167
If I had a shot for every "DCA is about to be destroyed" post, i'd be dead still. Still not complaining about 20". Hope MoCo gets 5' and OPM closes Monday.
Tater Tot
Finally getting one of those insane bands here in Fredericksburg. Never seen anything like it!
midatlanticweather
Oh my. Amazing. I am not as young as I was for snowmaggedden. 5 hours of shoveling complete. I have fluctuated between S++ and S+ all day.
LaurelMike
It's been very light here at the junction the Baltimore-Washington Parkway and U.S 50 for about 2 hrs, but finally have snow again and have faith in that band moving south from Laurel. I have about 14.5 inches with compaction. It's started coming down pretty good in Laurel now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wqe-_piy8F0

NattyBo
This is just biblical in Rockville. I'm getting legit worried about the roof of my family room - has a way less steep pitch than the rest of my roof...
GirlForAllSeasons
Anyone from Baltimore City want to post their totals? Trying to guess when Hopkins will open next week. midatlanticweather
31 is my best guess. But drifting and compaction due to the wind is killing it. NAM is the new model of choice!?

Kingstonian
My 1pm spotter report for Franconia/Kingstowne was 18.0 inches, 3 inches total for the six-hour period -- nearly all of that I think was before 9am and the dry slot. Not a high confidence number, but still working the multiple boards I set up. I just need 1 inch more for my personal best snowstorm (I was living in Texas for 1996 and the tropics for 2010), so that's something.
DCWeatherGuy
Oh yeah, if we can get a couple hours of good stuff we can shoot up the top 10. I was hoping for #2 and it may still be reachable...Knickerbocker was never really in play IMO even with the stuff last night. Hopefully, we can kick this slot soon and re-fire on all cylinders. We're not far away from this being a very nice event. Lol, I say that again and this is already top 10. At this point, getting over 17.1 and into the top 5 would be a positive result. Hoping we can do that.
