Kat
Yeah I think immediately in DC people will disappointed unless this band gets here in a hurry and does serious work, but in the end it will still be a great event. Nw DC getting pounded. Won't go into the record books though.
EastCoast NPZ
so painful. 4-5 hours of this now. Looking forward to filling in! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I was there last night. Feel your pain. But those bands certainly will swing through. I hope you all kill it down there.

nw baltimore wx
thanks... At this point, aren't we just getting snow depth? There's a lot of compaction, right?
ThreeRedheads
I have huge drifts on my roof. Very odd looking and not anything I've seen before. Official snow totals at the airports for yesterday: DCA 6.5" IAD 7.2" BWI 3.7"
Alcoholhelps
I have had like a an inch since 9:30 am. This sucks. That dry slot sits right over me in Alexandria. 16.5 inches maybe.

RevWarReenactor
I don't see Newark, DE on that map. Very upper right hand corner. No amounts given, but you can follow the contour. Im more worried about APG, which is on the map.

What are you at right now? Yeah we JUST missed the pivot this time, that'll be the difference between this and 2010 I guess. NAM/Euro ftw.

Bob Chill
The stuff moving in from the east towards DC has 22k' cloud tops. DC should be rockin shortly.

Ground Scouring
Yeah I think immediately in DC people will disappointed unless this band gets here in a hurry and does serious work, but in the end it will still be a great event. Honestly, by most people's standards this won't end up as historic, simply because the heaviest +SN is out in the boondocks of far northern VA, eastern WV, and western MD. Technically, it's still a HECS, but considering how those areas have seen many similar events, it's not as historic as similar totals would be farther east and south. After all, the areas most affected are along the Appalachians...
EastCoast NPZ
I can literally watch the snow pile up right now. This is a bit reminiscent of the Feb. '83 storm for me.
NorthArlington101
I'm rocking in my corner of Arlington. Windy with a mix of big/small flakes out there. 18.5", .4" an hour or so but it looks much better. Not so sure I trust my measurements anymore. Ltrain
The stuff moving in from the east towards DC has 22k' cloud tops. DC should be rockin shortly. It's taking its sweet time Bob. I've been watching it for hours and it hasn't even crossed the bay to fill us in let alone DC. It's agonizing.

I'm about 10 miles nw of DC and rest assured this is one of the bigger ones I've experienced. also DC will be back in the good bands soon. It's imminent. MacintoshPro
I'm right on the edge of the heavy band in N. Arlington. Steady wind-driven snow. Looks like a bit more than 19" over here. I only need 4 to top Feb 5/6 so I think I should be able to get there.
smokeybandit
The AA county dryslot keeps trying to close, but it keeps fending off the snow.
