Jebman
It's a good day to be in Dale City - if you love ground blizzards. That wind is blowing the snow all over the place! Lots gusts into the mid 30s!
Kat
The intensity of snow in Rockville is unbelievable. We have to have over two feet. Drifts are immense as well.
dailylurker
Dry slot. Pretty much over here since 7am.
birdsofprey02
BWI and the rest of AA county have been generally ignored by this storm in relative terms. I agree, I live on Dairy Farm rd so I'm close to you. Its been disappointing during the day today. Overnight wasn't bad but I just shoveled for an hour and maybe got a slight dusting during that time.

H2O
18.5" tho. Good storm Had 6.5" last measurement last night Today I went to previously shoveled areas that were NOT corrupted by drifting. Taking between 10-20 readings the range was 11-14 with 12 the most common. So 18.5"
wxnut
Now that this thing is giving NYC a good pounding as well, this storm should rank pretty high on the NESIS scale when it's all said and done. This could end up as only the third "5" on the scale.. just under the Blizzard of 1996. Certainly a high 4.

dukeblue219
The intensity of snow in Rockville is unbelievable. We have to have over two feet. Drifts are immense as well. Just looking at the radar loops it looks like Rockville is getting crushed while about 8 miles east the band is just paralleling route 29. I'm right on the fringes of that wishing it would fill in ever so slightly.

Jebman
Took several measurements all about. Mode number is 17. Round 2 incoming. Another 7 for 2 feet would work. Not too sure about that 24 in Manassas. Spot on. Definitely about 17.
RickinBaltimore
I shoveled my sidewalk and path in the back to put trash out about 2 hours ago. Got another 3-4 inches since then. Starting to snow heavy again with looks to be fatter flakes.
snowfan
I wouldn't say AA Co has been ignored by the storm. There's 16" on the ground w higher drifts. And we were never forecast to be the jackpot zone.

ThreeRedheads
Ripping snow. 24/21 Strong wind causing some major drifting Measuring is impossible, but guestimate is 18" to 20" I measured about 18" One spot had 21", but I'm sure that was due to drifting. So difficult to measure.

Deck Pic
11:45, 26, -SN, 14.25". Definitely some compaction. I am also going to seek out new measuring locations as there is too much drifting where I am and I don't think I am getting a fully accurate reading. Need to verify? If I take a bunch of measurements in a park on grass, how much should I subtract? I hate measuring on grass.
