You're right, that's how it was at the shoreline--graupel down south and when that band pivoted and tickled Hartford I was ripping snow. I don't think I'm getting 6" in an hour tonight, but 2/hr for a time would be a big win. We have to produce in every band if we want the massive totals.

Do you see a gravity wave in that?

Yeah, but you see those a lot in mixing. I think they are inertial gravity waves that occur with inversions.

The aforementioned deathband that's currently hurtling toward DC...I'm scared that's sleet?

About 7 miles WSW of Annapolis and it's all snow. Nicely sized dendrites that are piling up fast. I wouldn't be shocked if I picked up 2 inches in the last 30 minutes. Will go out to measure shortly but I think we are somewhere close to 15"

Yeah I'd imagine you're right. Also looks like the southern section of the band knocked out a decent chunk of the dryslot. You guys are right...we look fine to avoid it.
