Random Chaos
More very heavy snow, but now the winds have kicked up - gusts to 37mph, sustained 25 to 33mph. More icy snow mixing with the dendrites. But no sign of sleet yet. CC is showing the sleet mix line just barely south of me. HRRR is indicating the mixing line will shift east of me before it reaches my latitude, and the last couple frames of the CC are showing that happening. Bob Chill
There will be no dryslot overnight. Our worries (corridor and east) would be later during daylight. Pivot has begun. Southern edge will expand shortly.

87storms
Will it push west enough!?!?!?! looks like we might get clipped, but the energy to the west is starting to add some enhancement in central va, so i think we're fine. the 2nd storm in feb 2010 kinda did the same thing. Bob Chill
I don't know if I can believe the hrrr and rap but they both dump another 20"+ on top of 1am totals for many of us. And it's still snowing at the ends of the runs. Zero dryslot worries west of the bay as well.

RichmondTarHeel
Just went out for a measurement. There are snow drifts all over. Took measurements on top of my car in a relative save zone from the wind and there was 12" on top. Some other random measurements ranged between 10" and 13". I think it's safe to say Herndon has at least 12" and it is still dumping. The bands are dying down by the time they get here, but they're still impressive. I wonder if the LWX radar messes with some of my returns?
