MacintoshPro
Look at the qpf they reported during hours of heavy snow. It's ludicrous. OMG! 0.15" precipitation in that whole period?! WTF is up with that! that would require a 17:1 ratio to get 2.6", which is ridiculous

WxUSAF
BWI's total seems high. They were at 19.8 at 1pm but were dryslotted all morning like most of the county. I thought that 1pm ob was pretty high as well.
09-10 analogy
I've seen Wisconsin Ave. in worse shape than it is now. Snow packed, but only a couple of inches worth.

haudidoody
Where? Link please! Seems to say, if I'm reading it right, that they had basically the same QPF for the six hours after 1PM as the six hours before 1PM. Make of it what you will. Fozz
Since 7 pm really flurries or only light snow - I don't anticipate further accumulation- calling it at 27 inches - Roland park area balt city Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 26" here.... magnificent storm. It was literally a repeat of the Blizzard of 96, 20 years later.

MacintoshPro
Thanks Wow. DCA gets 0.13 from 7 to 1, and 0.14 from 1 to 7. Wut? They had 4 obs of heavy snow! something is wrong here!!
Amped
Wokeup from my nap just in time to catch the last flakes. Probably picked up another inch or 2 in the last few hours. Would bring the total to 32 or so.

DCWeatherGuy
I'm not bashing, and I haven't lived here long enough to know much of anything about how DCA does what it does, but I counted 4 heavy snow hourly obs and two mod snow obs between 1pm and 7pm, and 2.9 is what they get? Just sounds strange on its face. Not only that. They're reporting 3.8 inches since 7 AM. Sure we got semi-dry-slotted for a few hours in there, but it never stopped snowing. Not for a second. And yet, through 13 hours of snow, including multiple heavy bands that lasted for hours, they picked up under 4 inches. The DCA defenders in this thread who have buddies who work there or whatever can say what they like, but that's a bogus measurement that is not supported by a single observation point anywhere in the region. And this same thing happened the last major storm, and the one before that, and the one before that, and the one before that. Maybe there was an error, and maybe they'll correct it. I hope they do. But if they stick with this current number, that's a disservice to our region.
EastCoast NPZ
I didn't measure after 6, but I think we've only had a dusting since....so 39.25" Christ. That's amazing. The best I could tell my total was 27- 28 inches. I'm interested to see the report from the trained spotter just east of me. One heck of a storm. WxUSAF
Harrisburg, PA, and NYC have both set single-day snowfall records. ETA: With the NYC totals, this is going to get a high NESIS rating. I'm guessing an easy Cat 4 and might hit 5.
