What is that line on the radar approaching nyc? Sleet?

No, just heavy snow. Band is creeping north causing subsidence to the north of it

Snow has started in Ossining, NY.  24.9 degrees.  Trace on the ground.  Winds just starting to blow and the beautiful muffled sounds are heard of the low ceiling.  May the NAM be with you all!  Enjoy and be safe and hope that all do not have any damage from the storm!

Interesting feature stretching from Altoona all the way to the Atlantic beyond LI. Confluence? That "band is moving far slower compared to the rest of the system.

Stepped away for just an hour and I'm amazed by the banding that has developed. Really coming to life in a hurry.

This band should push on right through. Mega bands wont be setting up for awhile.

Went to bed (very late of course) with light snow and light winds. Within a few minutes I hear this roaring sound. It's like a switch turned on for the wind.
