dryslot
The SREFS were mentioned and posted more than they were that entire blitz last February...and this just cements how useless they are in winter storms. Some really reached deep into the model bag and dusted off some real relics along the way. Lol
OSUmetstud
I haven't even looked closely. Even if we do, the Euro is the worst case...and we still pop around 20, which is is almost good for second all time. Unbelievable. Thats if dca measures it lol. It rips before that happens obviously. The huge amounts will be west.

ORH_wxman
The SREFs are hilarious They increased QPF again. This is why powderfreak would stare at them until the last drop was gone from his bottle of jack.

Do they ever give up? Or do they just keep busting every 6 hours over and over again?

ORH_wxman
Do they ever give up? Or do they just keep busting every 6 hours over and over again? They will eventually cave...I think ti took until about 18 hours out or so in the blizzard last year. In the feb 7-9 event, it was similar, maybe even 12 hours out, lol. In the feb 7-9 event, it was similar, maybe even 12 hours out, lol. they got to be coded (the physical algorithms being perturbed) deliberately that way. it's just to fantastically bad not to be - it's like they can initialize properly, then - okay. their native processes (whatever they are) force absurd results in as little as 6 to 12 hrs out in time, smacks to me as forcing a result experimentally. We can joke about the NAM and SREFs all we want but it wouldn't take all that much from the globals to be meaningful for us, especially you IMO. Heck, Ukie would be a nice little event for many if it actually reached the ground.

Ginx snewx
Tuck that low 20 miles north and that inflow deform really crushes the south coast. Total now cast for them. I give more credence to mesos like the RGEM inside 24 for that stuff. Totally immersed in this on my day off. What a beast

ORH_wxman
The thing about the NAM sim radar is that it generally drops qpf under it...so in that sense, the qpf is lining up pretty well. Ther'es been snow in extreme southern Ohio and SW PA.
