HIPPYVALLEY
Unless cloud-cover moves north, we might wind up with a partly/mostly sunny afternoon here in gC. SUn's been shining for the last 45 minutes or so. 21.0/9 As I mentioned in the other thread I am in Brattleboro and now have sunglasses on watching the wall of clouds retreat south. 21F
ORH_wxman
The best ML frontogenesis is transfering east a bit based on short term guidance and the SPC mesoanalysis....and you can see it on the region loop where the precip shield is intensifying S of RI and SE MA...this will be the area to watch as it pinwheels NW. medmax
I think what we get is the equivalent of last weekends surprise cape scrape. Hope it's a little more so my 8" prediction doesn't bust too badly. My range was 6-10".

CTWeatherFreak
Starting to have serious doubts on BOX forecast map of 8-12 for this area; I think DIT's 4-8 looks much more likely; even that might be too bullish. After hours of moderate-heavy snow on radar and having nothing but occasional very light flurries, you begin to wonder if this will ever get real.. Jenkins
yep you will get pawned Moving to NC in a month so thinking this is my last big storm for a few years. Might just go out with a bang. Radar looks fantastic along south coast. Hopefully it expands northward for all you central/northern RI/CT peeps.

Let's see how right the HRRR is. It says the NW edge of precip should start slipping south through CT as that transfer happens off SE MA.

danstorm
Can call it steady light snow now. Interestingly..there appears to be a bit of graupel mixed in at the start Had a few hours with graupel... Times where it predominated. Perhaps a fuzzy recollection from cloud physics but think it's related to turbulent flow in precip production zone.
