yhbrooklyn
It's pretty easy for NYC right now. Very tough HPN and north. NYC consensus is 6"-12"+. Period. That's easy? You tell the public 6-12+ and see if they are happy with that.

Drz1111
I thought this was the run where the NAM was supposed to "fold" to the Euro and GFS and leave us with nothing but virga and cirrus. ;-) Certainly one of the more interesting forecasts for NYC of the last decade....b/w 2/2010, 2/2015 and now this, we're on a roll with knife-edge uncertainty. IsentropicLift
I-84 is the cutoff. South of that you're golden. North of there, well
ILoveWinter
This is 6 runs in a row right? Something like that. I mean NAM always overdoes QPF but it may be on to something regarding the track as we not more than 12 hours away from the start.
IsentropicLift
So basically what happens is the second low further to the East takes over and drags everything East. That's why all of a sudden things just shut off around here. Doesn't matter. Nearly 24 straight hours of very heavy snow.

UlsterCountySnowZ
I-84 is the cutoff. South of that you're golden. North of there, well Nam is still pretty good about 20-30 miles north of 84, just on the edge and quit iffy
Rittenhouse
Get ready for thundersnow over NYC if this verifies. That is some intense lifting.
NittanyWx
Been waiting for this northward nudge, was pleased to see the models pick up on it overnight. 2-3"/hr rates in that band, a lot of subsidence around it. Some gnashing of teeth likely for those in the subsidence, but this should deliver the goods for most. CCB snows are some of the most fun and awe inspiring to be in, especially with the winds being what they are.
SnowGoose69
I definitely thought the NAM was going to make a big move towards the other models on the first few frames. The fact it starts the snow at 04z or so and he NAM is always too slow I wouldn't be surprised if some areas are snowing by 8 tonight
