This is one of the most insane northwest flow snow event I ever seen during my three years in Asheville. Going to call ~15" as final snow/sleet total at UNCA. Going to have a whole lot of tree cleanup the next few weeks Pines were snapping like matchsticks last evening for about 4 hours. Everything is still coated with a heavy glaze. Still nowing heavily in the high country and the ski mountains are really busy. Here's a video of what 10" of snow looks like just north of Lake Lure... Very nice video! The secondary roads are hard-packed sleet/ice and are more of an issue. It still wasn't bad since there wasn't much traffic, though. Nice video, BTW! I think it was just warm enough that with driving, and maybe with treatment, the roads were slushy, not slick. The only bad spot was in my neighborhood, and I just took it slow and rolled down the hill at the best angle I could manage, only daring to brake when I hit a dry spot.
