thess Posted January 23, 2016 Share Posted January 23, 2016 Overcast near the Southpoint mall. Roads are jacked, including I40/Fville. Trees don't look too bad off my deck, small amount of ice. It took all three of my older boys to push the car out of the ruts. The roads continue to be a mess even after they were plowed. Pure pack ice... It was pretty wicked around 2AM as the wind was howling and blowing snow around. Congrats to everybody who saw wintry weather! Can't wait til the next storm. downeastnc Posted January 23, 2016 Share Posted January 23, 2016 now that my rain gauge has thawed I have 2.85" of rain.....it all fell as rain too but the temps went from 41 to 28 overnight and froze up the gauge...I might have had .10-.20" of sleet Friday morning that isnt factored in here, so close to 3" total for the event here sounds about right.. I also live near there. Definitely legit light snow. Flakes are on the smaller side still, but there are a decent number of them. Radar shows a big blob to the north that is getting bigger.
