WeatherHawk
heavy rates of 'crunchy snow' (that's what my daughter calls sleet) and very windy mixed with some ZR...just got a special statement that Asheboro to GSO to Burlington may get an additional .25-.3" of ZR
Coach McGuirk
I'd say you are good for another hour of zr, the warmth is slowly coming in from the ocean. Went up to 36 here with moderate rain but snow is still on the ground. Up to 33.3, rain and sleet in Hampton, VA.

ncstatered21
Reporting from Clayton, NC. One half of town has power, luckily that's the half with food. I'm a half mile from hospital with no power. Transformers popping in every direction. Utilities crews working down the street so that's a good sign. No precipitation but still just at the freezing line. Would love to see some snow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
seawolf14
32* and back to ZR here in Holly Springs. Trees bending pretty good now. Coming up on hour 3 of no power. HKY_WX
Have had light snow off and on here NE of hickory. Prob got 4.5 inches. Euro still shows a solid 2 or 3 more possible tonight/tomorrow. I think as the 850 low revs up over eastern NC tonight we will see a band develop over NC. Sleet strikes again as far as totals, but I figured as much. Still surprised we didn't get up towards the 10inch range. I really thought that was our low range in this particular situation.

It just bounced right off and failed to accumulate. 4.5 is my best guess too based on multiple measurements on my elevated deck. Radar looks promising for more a little later.Sent from my 6045O using Tapatalk
packfan98
Still pouring sleet here. Appears to be a few flakes mixing in for the first time since 6:30 this morning. Have to be over 3 inches by now.

HKY_WX
I thought about that also. Wonder where that band will setup, im thinking piedmont. What do you think? Probably the foothills/piedmont, shifting ENE as we go through the night.

It's hard to tell if it's just big chunks of ice, blowing off my roof, or flakes.

HKY_WX
What would be the timeframe for this area of precipitation, in your opinion? I think this band developing over the mountains/foothills will eventually shift towards your way after midnight and then eastern NC tomorrow morning.
