He just now tweeted again

This could be the type of night you go out this evening and see blue flashes from transformers blowing up. Was like that in Feb 96 ice storm

How do you measure ice anyway? Do you take a ruler like you do snow? At least that is how I do it. Does't seem there is an accurate way to measure ice.

Yikes! Good question. I just eyeball it. :)

Don't know how you officially measure it though. We're having some runoff, due to the temps being close to freezing now.

22 F

Mod Sleet (since 2:45ish)

6.5"

Snow started at 4:20am and lasted nonstop until ~2:45 -- 10 hours of snow and only 6.5" to show for it. Very dry snow, was supposed to be wet. General consensus forecast for my area was 12-22", doubt we even get close to that with the sleet compaction. This sucks. The biggest bust that I can remember since I started following weather in 2004.

i havent checked outside lately but  the power blinked so went to look and surprised with how much ice there is.   about .25" ice, tree limbs are really leaning and its windy.   currently have moderate freezing rain and sleet falling at 27*

Surprised that you haven't changed over to snow yet......we're getting pounded with heave sleet/rain/snow mix here.......too bad were not just a degree or two cooler, we'd have picked up at least 2 inches in the last hour with some of the heavier banding, but just too dang warm.
