jburns
Down to 24º with a lull in the precip. Afraid it might start back as freezing rain. Freezing rain at 24º is a whole different animal than freezing rain at 31º.
wxdawg10
Let's hope those moderate rates moving in are in the form of snow/sleet. Only thing saving us right now is the fact that the ZR has been light and mixed with sleet or we'd be in trouble.
drfranklin
That sounds like that line of convection - lightning included - due into Gvl/Spg around 4:00 or so several ATL posters on the other board have reported lightning in the past hour
GlaringSun
Almost looks like a squall line coming through north central Georgia. Anybody have obs underneath it? I hoping that will hold together through the upstate. It's looking really impressive at the moment. I was under it several minutes ago, pretty much just moderate rain and maybe a snowflake or two mixed in.
No snow for you
Sleeting pretty good. Currently 27/25 Temps have really cooled down.

El Kabong
Wow! Sun has really broken through and the temp has risen to 69 degrees. Didn't quite see that coming. The NWS forecast had us topping out in the mid-50's. About 100 miles north in the wedge, it's 39 in ATL.

mjwise
20/17 with gusty ENE winds, looks like snow is finally going to start again due to the impending death of the primary low and its dry slot somewhat filling in. Never really stopped, just turned to flurries for a few hours.

WidreMann
zr or ip? I'm skeptical. It's straight IP here in south Durham near I-40 and Southpoint. I'd be surprised if it was all ZR in Carrboro of all places.

superjames1992
You mean SN? Don't think we're going to see any ZR (or at least not much). We will definitely see more snow, even if it is just snow showers tomorrow. Hope it's from the ULL, though.

I hoping that will hold together through the upstate. It's looking really impressive at the moment. I'll be under it (the northern fringe) in about 10 minutes. I'll post something if anything interesting......we're down to 32 here so I would think there may be some sleet mixed in if nothing else.
DopplerWx
Same thing up here. Rather have the sleet than freezing rain, but wish we could get more snow. sickening to think if this was all snow, oh well. sleet has made for some good sledding and it looks like snow and continues to accumulate.
