mattie g
real concern now, havent seen an pretreatment trucks at all Pointless to pretreat roads that will be buried within a few hours. So we're pretty much looking at 2-3" of QPF. I can deal with that.
psuhoffman
We may never see something like this again... The GFS is advertising the GOAT stormGOAT?
Deck Pic
Many thanks...just refreshed the page and saw those maps from Yoda and the cumulative amount from Deathband. We do pretty well in the "lull" period...like 0.4"...it's a little lower than other models because only about 0.25 falls after 18z tomorrow...obviously a global isn't going to get those granular details... BTRWx
Can someone post about the winds along the bay thanks in advance Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Try this from the GFS. Click the different timings on the right hand side. High resolution models should show it better in a couple hours or so. http://www.tropicaltidbits.com/analysis/models/?model=gfs&region=neus&pkg=mslp_wind&runtime=2016012212&fh=30&xpos=0&ypos=

WinterWxLuvr
After looking at the 4k and RGEM I dont think its ridiculous to say that someone may actually end up with 40 inches from this storm. My bet would around Mt. Weather. And western Loudoun. I think to get 40" on the ground you'd need 50 to fall.
WinterWxLuvr
We truly need a win for the American models. It still hasn't happened yet, but if it does as advertised I think this one belongs to the gfs. It's been a rock, the euro a ping pong ball. Locally. WinterWxLuvr
Yeah compaction would really start to mess with the totals. Has to, I agree. It happened in 2010. That snow was extremely dense after it got that deep.

Physics will start to kick in though, as in roof structures. Also the logistics of finding a place to put it.
