NortheastPAWx
LSV getting hit by 0.25+ already 54-57. Precip as a whole is already getting to 80N. At 18z/63, it wasn't even to MDT. 60 has 0.25+ to 80.

canderson
It'd be nice if the NAM was reliable, wouldn't it? I have a very hard time buying this run. It'll probably shift 120 miles south at 6z because NAM.
NortheastPAWx
0.5+ into the LSV at 63. 0.75+ at 66. 80N still struggling, unfortunately.
paweather
66 is a crush job for southern, central areas.
NortheastPAWx
MAJOR cutoff once you get north of 80. You can go from like 0.75-1.00+ QPF to nada in a few miles.
Mallow
It'd be nice if the NAM was reliable, wouldn't it? I have a very hard time buying this run. It'll probably shift 120 miles south at 6z because NAM. I wouldn't be so sure. The huge change in the SREFs suggests maybe something important was finally ingested with the initialization. It's possible all the 00z runs are going to shift. Certainly the precip shield over the Plains matches the 00z NAM better than the 18z NAM. Voyager
Damn...I need to get to bed so I can get up at 4am, but I just gotta see where the NAM is going to take us. Through 66hrs it's looking sweet! But I have to agree with Canderson. It scares me and I hope it's not just a tease.

pasnownut
precip looks 30-50 miles further north than 18z. barely hit 80 at 18Z... now approaching 6 at 0z
paweather
speechless, does it have to be the NAM? http://mag.ncep.noaa.gov/ImageFourPanel.php?model=nam&group=Model Guidance&preselected_formatted_cycle_date=20160121 00 UTC&area=namer&cycle=00&fhr=069¶m=500_vort_ht|1000_500_thick|700_rh_ht|850_temp_ht&ps=area&size=medium

NortheastPAWx
For northern areas, it's like converting 4th & 10 from our own 10 with an 11-yard pass. Enough to keep the game going but still a very iffy situation.
