Northwest NJ
I heard about 800 acres have been burned by a wildfire in Ulster county. I hate seeing this and we sure could use some rain tonight and tomorrow to help contain this fire and the outbreak of more fires. Does anyone know if this fire has been contained? gravitylover
Haven't heard but I was wondering about that too. I was out riding again today and you'd think that rain the other day might have done some good but ...NOPE. It's dry like late summer.
IrishRob17
The Sam's Point fire isn't contained yet but no structures are currently threatened thankfully.
IrishRob17
This years fire has grown to about the size of last years from what I can tell. There were reports of ash falling in the Marlboro and Wappingers Falls area last night.

gravitylover
testing testing - You're good. I was in north central VT this morning, boy was it nice to see fresh snow. As I walked around the shady side of a building I hit the ground hard though, kinda forgot what ice is like

IrishRob17
Whats weird is our reservoir is full. During other lean stretches the last few decades its been noticeably lower. Wonder why?Any noticeable change now with the green up? The pond by me has dropped about 6-8" since we were chatting about this.

psv88
I wouldn't live in a location where there was even a remote risk of bear wandering across my property. I am fine with squirrels and raccoons, Thanks. In my immediate area deer have made an entrance into the wooded areas. I grew up around here and there were no deer at all. Not in the County parks, and certainly not in residential areas. Now there are deer all over the place, especially in the County parks and along the Northern State Parkway. In fact, a deer was hit and killed by exit 39 a few weeks back. This section of the road cuts right through West Hills County Park, also the home of LI';s highest hill, at 400 feet. JerseyWx
so you got nothing. It;s all good Not sure what you want from me lol, I guess I deleted the picture. You don't have to believe me, but I have no reason to lie. Anyway, here's a mom with her cubs from a couple years ago. This was pretty close to our house. I think there was a fifth cub, but he was ahead of the rest.
