UlsterCountySnowZ
Well it was fun while it lasted lol.. 18z GFS was the beginning of the end for us. Agreed. No one should have bought into those 18"+ totals the earlier runs were printing out. As it stands now I see this as an advisory event for most, Low end warning snows down in NNJ. lol.. 6z gave me over 1" of LE... This run gives me half of that. Not even close. I appreciate your enthusiasm but its quite obvious whats happening right now. Me?? Never lol.. Sit back, relax and enjoy the 0z suite. If it shows what we had 24 hours ago I would be shocked Still think its obvious what's going on here? GGEM leads the way P.s all in good fun

Juliancolton
That was nice, though the daily "awesome at 00z, abysmal at 12z" shtick is starting to get old. Hopefully we've seen the worst of the whiff solutions.

I personally don't think it will jump that much in 1 run.. If it does cave, it will be tomorrow or Thursday IMO.. Thoughts?

LaGrangewx
It'd be quite awesome and reassuring if it caved tonight yet the past two nights I get great gfs and cmc runs only to be disappointed by the euro. Sounds like a little different sampling of data can cause a huge difference on euro which could cause a large shift in one run.

UlsterCountySnowZ
GGEM crushes NYC/NJ but man what a cut off up here. Doesn't sit well with me I posted the 500H maps comparing GFS and GGEM... I'm almost certain the GGEM had an issue with that double low, the upper levels don't support that kind of sharp cutoff, the confluence is gone in plenty of time on the GGEM
chietanen
The GEFS look marginally better up this way, but nowhere near what the GFS gives us. It definitely seems like the models are picking up on a tight gradient of precipitation. They sometimes correct as the storm draws closer, but I continue not to get my hopes up too high for this one. We'll see what the Euro does in a few. I'm working this weekend, otherwise I might have taken a road trip to DC before the storm hits.
