chietanen
The NAM is lol worthy for a lot of our area. From partly cloudy to 12" of snow in like 20 miles.

Meanwhile im about 55 miles NW and I barely get 1". Thats truly comical

White Gorilla
I cannot believe we will be bare ground while places way south are buried in late January and I don't see any significant snow after this one for a while. snywx
Winter storm watch just issued for my county 4-8 inches... We had one issued for us this morning... Doesn't mean much though, just gives the NWS an opportunity to warn it or drop down to an advisory if it warrants.

Upton is covering their butts as you pointed out.

UlsterCountySnowZ
Wayyyyyy less drastic cutoff on NAM this run Cutoff is just as drastic, just a tad north, by about 30 miles.. Good trend so far to start 12z
UlsterCountySnowZ
No other support. Been burned a million times with the NAM. If 12z holds I'll agree... It has the SREFS, and RGEM are very similar at

snywx
NAM also shows us in the CCB from 21z to about 03z on Saturday.. If thats truly the case then crazy things can happen while under those dynamics.
Juliancolton
Albany sort of throwing me a bone as well: FOR SATURDAY NIGHT-SUNDAY MORNING...STEADY SNOW SHOULD BE ONGOINGACROSS THE MID HUDSON VALLEY REGION AND NW CT WHERE CHC TO LIKELYPOPS ARE INDICATED...WITH SOME POSSIBILITY OF LIGHTER SNOW EXTENDINGINTO THE BERKSHIRES/EXTREME SOUTHERN VT. hudsonvalley21
La la lock it up Well it trended in the right direction. The 06z nam had 0.0 of snow, while the 12z has 13.1 for SWF. Who knows what the 18z will show.

Juliancolton
And GFS brings us back to earthI think we're pretty well boned WRT this system. It was a fun week of tracking, to be sure. At least we still have two months to plausibly cash in. March snow climo is higher than December afaik, so we're really just coming up on 1/3 of the way through peak snow season. Last I heard, JB likes mid to late February.

chietanen
I never much cared for snow anyways. That gradient though! I'd rather be partly sunny and fully removed from the system than have scattered flurries while the next town south is getting buried.

Juliancolton
I know it's a moot point, but if by some miracle the 12z NAM verified, we'd be ripping snow for a few hours. Enjoy the digital snow, it's the only snow you've got.
IrishRob17
There's a slight chance of rain/snow showers in Denver on Sunday, I'm going to start tracking that.
