NYCGreg
Hopefully someone can answer this: what is the optimal evolution of these upcoming systems to get this area a blockbuster storm next week? What has to fall into place to make that happen?
SnoSki14
Unbelievable this winter is easily the warmest ever as of Feb 4 yet the metro may tally over 40" with the next two systems. Timing is everything.

bluewave
Anyone else notice a SE bias with coastal lows on the new parallel Euro? It seems like all the major coastal storms are skewed too far SE and the OP has been doing much better. I really hope they fix this problem before the new parallel goes operational. Or could it be a problem with the way Wxbell is generating the maps?

Or could it be a problem with the way Wxbell is generating the maps? I'm not sure if it's a SE bias or a "wrong bias" (re:coastals) like the NAM has but it's pretty disconcerting. It's the best model with respect to forecasting 500 mb heights in the northern hemisphere but with coastals in our area it's been pretty bad so far.
