uncle W
Uncle, I remember this one, at 11, but I'm not bragging, having missed most of the best. As I remember, 25.8" was the reading, And it was at the Battery, as you correctly recall. Next year (Dec '48) we got a 19" storm, at the Battery, but now officially around 16" at Central Park, I think. Wish they still measured down there. 19.6" at the Battery in 1948...I was in my mothers belly at the time and she fell in a snow drift...She was helped home and I heard that story all my early life... 1948... http://fultonhistory...cale - 6152.pdf http://fultonhistory...cale - 6154.pdf

IsentropicLift
I love hot sauce and BBQ sauce and a good spicey brown mustard. I hate mayonase and ketchup. I don't put anything on my Taylor ham except cheese and or egg.

It showed high QPF in S NJ too, but I think surface temps might have been an issue there.

gravitylover
Looks like I need to be in southern IL on 2/9 for a job interview. Other than the forecasted cold that looks to be setting up in the midwest is there any reason I wouldn't want to drive? Storminess potential? With the price of gas now it's way cheaper to drive than to fly and rent a car on the other end.

SleetStormNJ
I can actually hear the snow melting. Sounds like a bowl of Rice Krispies. Snap, crackle, pop Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk No problem here. We have had snowpack for a week even with melting and some sun and above freezing temps. Melt it down and away in enough spots so it's not dirty. Get some rain in from the cutter to wash it down and we can reload for a shot or two here in February. Will change back and forth on the modeling aspect for sure but I have a feeling this one could be big for the interior areas and our friends away from the metros based on the setup.
