cjr231
Yeah. My issue is that it snowed pretty heavily for a while after that 25.1 at 7pm. Not sure how they botched the final but #2 all time and the #1 single day record are more than enough for me.

Not sure how they botched the final but #2 all time and the #1 single day record are more than enough for me. The three airports all being well ahead of Central Park-highly unusual, especially JFK and LGA-raises a red flag to me when Manhattan was under the same banding, even seemingly more intense banding, for longer. There was also a little more snow after that measurement. I strongly believe this broke the record.
Messiah94
That was one fantastic storm! I will probably put that one down as one of the best. Btw that exchange between Kocin and DT was hysterical. Still cant stop laughing.....

Then again who knows, DCA always tends to be a foot less than the surburbs and BWI

uncle W
Amazing how 7 out of top 10 storms are in past 20 years. Something is going on. in the past it looks like most storms were measured when the snow stopped...when you get a 24hr storm measuring 12.5" and have a 13" snow depth with no snow on the ground like was recorded January 13th 1964 you know something is suspect...... SnoSki14
DT should be humbled after this storm. I know he even called some posters out about the sleet arriving too early in a brutal fashion and yet they ended up being correct.
