mob1
I'd gladly give up 5-6 inches of snow to rain to see 60+ mph gusts for 12 hours. I want a super amped tucked in low and higher HP up north to gradient me into oblivion (Disclaimer; I still want at least 6 inches of snow though, otherwise everything I just said is moot )

NEG NAO
that area where the energy is coming from - about 1000 miles west of the Oregon coast has yet to be sampled properly - have to see if the models change at all the next couple of days http://www.intellicast.com/Storm/Hurricane/PacificSatellite.aspx

Rjay
Well then if that is the case you should not make any call. I have more respect for people who abandon their calls when the evidence mounts against it. This is exactly why we have 3 or 4 mets in this subforum. WaPo
There was an earlier post which was giving Forky crap for saying the weekend storm was going OTS 2 days ago. I was saying that was dumb in a sarcastic way.

Rjay
All I said was forky said it was going OTS. Is that wrong? You were trolling him in a storm thread. Your post was condescending. I don't mind people giving it back to Forky as he loves to give it to some of you. But giving a met crap over being off a few hundred miles at 8/9 is ridiculous. NEG NAO
still a few issues to deal with with this storm - rain/sleet /snow lines - northern extent of the precip - duration of the storm and the exact timing

WaPo
Bernie brought up a good point about the system being a few small systems before the Rockies which the models could be having a difficult time with. He doubts it could seriously hurt the storm's chances, but it's something we should be on the lookout for.
Juliancolton
Look at my post, again all I said was Forky said it was OTS. How is that condescending. Wow I'd still caution against spiking any footballs... a lot of less-than-desirable things can happen to a snowstorm in 4.5+ days.

Wow Randomly bringing up that forky said out to sea couple days ago with (meteorologist) thrown in for good measure is absolutely trolling and completely unnecessary, especially in a storm thread. ForestHillWx
4.5 days, an eternity. I still believe the ridging in the Idaho/Washington area is key. If the Pac flow comes in too strong it will be exit stage right for northern locals. I'm jacked up for a monster storm, but temperance is key.
