Rjay
No reason. but I expect it to be about the same as the previous model run. Then it will get disregarded again.
Stormlover74
Then it will get disregarded again. But, but all the other models are trending towards it
Animal
From the mid Atlantic thread, the GFS hi-res is 4-8" of snow from the 00z run Apparently the UK is hit for the SE ( NC/VA) per that web portal
Ericjcrash
UK way south, expect the EURO to agree. Doesn't mean they're right.
Animal
UK way south, expect the EURO to agree. Doesn't mean they're right. Yea. Sort a kick in the nutz. You get a good GFS run and then the UK pulls the rug out.

Morris
Interesting thing that I didn't know from Maue. ECMWF 00z actually finished ~2 hours ago. Takes a few minutes on EC's supercomputer. They hold it back & distribute globally on set schedule
Rtd208
So DT posted on Twitter about 15 mins ago that the Euro is king and the GFS & GEFS caved into it??
dbc
So DT posted on Twitter about 15 mins ago that the Euro is king and the GFS & GEFS caved into it?? Lol, it's looking like the exact opposite actually. Even if you take QPF out of the equation, 12z Euro and 0z GFS are not similar in any way at H5 and H7. Euro at 0z is much better than the 12z for NY/NJ/PA/CT and taking a jump towards all the other 0z guidance from this evening save maybe the UKMET and NOGAPS/NAVGEM. It's just a bit slower than everything else but that's a known bias at this range for the Euro. H5 is a little south of other guidance for sure but that is certainly not set in stone and it bumped north from 12z.
Ababa
At least by being all over the place the euro is doing us a favor and we won't use it as a crutch in trying to pin down this storm.

Ralph Wiggum
So DT posted on Twitter about 15 mins ago that the Euro is king and the GFS & GEFS caved into it??I respect David immensely but it is clearly evident to me that he is sleep-deprived tracking this storm and needs rest to recharge the old battery. His statement is just incorrect.

WaPo
6Z was interesting. It dipped to Columbia, SC at 66 before heading N towards OBX at 78. Low is 150 miles SE of ACY with a High over Nova Scotia at 90. Low stage rights 500 miles east of OBX at 114. Keeping my storm posts in here because someone better will post in the storm thread. UlsterCountySnowZ
Things are still not looking great for us NW guys.. Especially the further from NYC you get Nams looks to be suppressed as well, lows far East at 84 compared to GFS and even the GFS has a massive cutoff.. Someone up here's gonna get shafted hard

White Gorilla
How wonderful that the major of the area celebrates a huge blizzard while we NW folks sit and watch. Just like we sat and watched New England last year, though it snowed frequently but much less. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
