UlsterCountySnowZ
i see now reason why the gfs/ggem strom cannot occur, decent high parked to the north, slowly retreating....

forkyfork
it keeps bouncing around. btw, "every model shows a storm" is a really weak statement. we get storms every 5-10 days this time of year

Hailstorm
ECMWF nice Not really for NYC as we change to rain Euro is probably locked in now as it locked in 10 days prior to today's cutter. Not so good news.

Hailstorm
Where ? Look again I saw the Euro map you posted and it showed a hugger. Allsnow said it was snow to a mix, dryslot. As bluewave said, we need the Euro to show a suppressed storm now because it will likely trend west.

So below will be very different by the time this all plays out However as per 12z on hi res , KNYC 186 925 - 1 850 - 2 BL 33 NE winds .3 KNYC 192 925 - 2 850 -0 BL 31 N winds .6 196 dry slot 0 falls . What falls is snow . But don`t look at any of this . Look at this .LP off the EC / HP draped to your N

Just looking at the overall pattern.

We all have the same worries and know the trend . However he can`t yell rain when disseminating the run for NYC / it doesn`t show that . Will it evolve to that , possibly and 8 days away I would much rather see this off to my S and E , it`s too close for comfort . But the run was snow / in case anyone cared . Stormlover74
Not really for NYC as we change to rain Euro is probably locked in now as it locked in 10 days prior to today's cutter. Not so good news. Locking onto a cutter is easy. 150 miles to the west is a cutter and so is 500 miles west. Doesn't mean it nailed down the low's position 10 days ago
CIK62
The 12Z EUROMaxRes has 6 inches for NYC but is so close it excludes the southeast portion of city and all of LI. Timing is early AM 2/24 - early AM 2/25. Meanwhile the 12Z GFS is OTS and colder, probably ditto with the CMC.

WOW. http://rochesterwebcam.com/live-webcams/rochester-new-york-jines-restaurant-cam Heaviest snow hit during rush hour and it destroyed the roads. You'd think it never snows here. 490 still closed in both directions through the city.

LongBeachSurfFreak
Looks like the tug hill's currently seeing 4-5" hour rates so there is always that. This radar returns remind me of Connecticut during feb
