I live in Northern DE and love reading your forum. I am not far from PHL but get better analysis out of the MA forum.  I also have been reading a lot of the NE forum for signs that somehow this storm may move more north and east.  Of course Kevin is raving that 12z was just the beginning of the north trend.....its all highly entertaining.

Good luck in the storm.  I'd love to see a 30" stripe from DC to Wilmington DE in the end.

Travel agent said she can't double-book me, and decision makers here keep brushing this off and saying that it's going to be mostly rain.  One guy actually said "I know how to read models too, believe me" and yet he's on the rain train.  Unf*ckingbelieveable.

I'm going to work every angle I can to get approved to get the f*ck out of here on Thursday.  If I don't then someone is going to die.

The question isn't whether OPM will close on Friday, it is when will they finally open up next week?

I've thought about it, but the morons would still think they know more than the experts.

F*********************************CK!!!!

Just wait til they issue Watches for the potential of 12 or more inches. if that doesn't convince him you're screwed. Nothing like working for know it alls.

Every single time we think it can't get better, a model throws more scratch on the table. The trend, the REAL trend, is our friend.

I actually sort of expect QPF to tick up as we get closer. That's generally what happens with these monsters and that STJ/warm ocean temp combo is dynamite.

My dad has tickets for Sunday afternoon vs Penguins

Funny, the Caps played the Penguins in DC in the immediate aftermath of the Feb 2010 storm as well.  Another Sunday day game after a Friday-Saturday storm.

And that was also the last year the Caps won the President's Trophy as the best team in hockey (regular season), which they are on pace to do again this year.  And then they went to the playoffs and...oh god dammit.

No doubt, but if it does mild up a bit then they'll have 24-36 hours to get at it  The city streets will be a shambles, though, so that may convince them to suggest telework for a while.

Paul Kocin and I will be working this weekend at the NCWCP. He's on day shifts, I'm on midnights, but will (obviously) have to camp out Saturday and probably Friday as well. As much as I'm not going to be thrilled being stuck at work, we're going to fully enjoy the event as I'm sure you all will! Hopefully this storm will be worthy to include in Volume III of Northeast Snowstorms :)
