neatlburbwthrguy
Sounds about right Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk may be considered an amateur question, but curious, would it be snowing right now in Atlanta at say 3000 feet?
superjames1992
The 19z RAP has the Triad changing over to snow around 8 PM. I'm gonna get RAP'd, but the soundings are what they are. Shouldn't trust it, but here I am.
WFFaithful
Just a note for you Triad peeps. The 12z Euro mauls us with the deformation band this evening from 00zish through maybe 08z. We'll see if it happens, but it's a lot of snow if it does. Don't sleep on the possibility. Remember what happened to Big Frosty and company in February 2014. SeVa
Absolutely absurd gradient on Euro snow maps. 30 mile spread through Hampton Roads is the difference between 4" and 20". 50mile error in low track is completely reasonable and has huge implications up this way. LithiaWx
may be considered an amateur question, but curious, would it be snowing right now in Atlanta at say 3000 feet? Not yet, 850's are crashing from west to east. It's still rain at 3000 feet over Atlanta. It won't be long though between 5-7 we should see a switchover for the duration of the event. WidreMann
The wind barbs imply right around Savannah. But that's also just a model, not an actual analysis.
CoolBreeze
Looks like weve got a triple barrel kinda thing goin on. Hopefully this is just showing the transition in progress, where the 1002 mb center in N GA will wane as the secondary 1000 mb moves into the Atlantic and deepens. NCSU2005
I know we don't prefer the weather channel, but they continue to show some back end snow for RDU overnight and early tomorrow, up to 1 inch. What a band setting up over NE Georgia. yep and i am in the middle of that band it is just pouring sleet and freezing rain and looks like a few token flakes here and there. .25" ice now and its getting pretty dark to the sw. the temp held steady all morning (like 7 hours maybe) at 30 its now

beanskip
Unfortunately NAM soundings show a sleet profile through at least 7 p.m. in Shelby. I don't think that big band from NE Ga. will wait that long.
