Hopefully there's a middle ground somewhere between everyone cashing in on heavy snow and the bad tidal flooding/beach erosion being minimized for the coast. If the low stalls out over the Delmarva while ENE wind gusts over 60 mph slam into the coast for maybe 12 hours, the coast is in trouble-maybe big trouble.

Agreed. The gfs implies some historically bad coastal flooding/erosion. It would be nice to get a Euro/Gfs middle ground in terms of the storm.

Looks like the GFS gets mid 30s to near 40 to Long Island once the initial overrunning goes by and the low stalls out. The Jersey Shore gets maybe 4-8" then rain, since NE winds turning to ENE are off a long stretch of water there. And again, the GFS absolutely slams the coast with hours of storm force winds on Saturday.

Temps may be a little too warm on the GFS where NE and ENE winds are more land-based, but the heaviest snow totals from this run would be from the city west.

Lol and it appears half of it is lost to non-snow if you believe the clown snow maps. Unreal.

No, not half in the city. Not even close. Maybe Montauk Point, but that's even iffy.

South from Monmouth Beach is a different story though. NE wind from there south goes over a long stretch of warm water.
