Amazing pics on the 10 o'clock news! Piles of hail still in parking lots , 4-5 hours later, looks like piles of snow! Calling it a historic event! Solak
Bright crescent Moon to the West, thunder and lightning off in the distance W & NW. Kinda eerie when I'm outside. Hope the hail hasn't affected any of our posters.

Chinook
3/14 hail reports (as of 11:14PM Eastern) in central NC. I highlighted a golf ball size hail report north of Raleigh. Some of the icons represent hail reports <1". Must have been a nasty day!

See, I knew GSP would get 12" of SOMETHING this winter. Apart from a few heavy rain bursts and lightning around 7-8 PM, it's all been quiet here. I was hoping I might get to see hail for a second day in a row, but I guess not.

Chinook
I noticed that there were no svr watches issued for NC or SC. I think the SPC just hates issuing watches in the SE for lower-end severe threats. It's kind of strange how many times TN/NC/SC/GA get 30-40 wind/hail reports with no watch. We always miss the good stuff down here! The biggest hail I have ever seen was about ping pong - golfball sized hail, on Pelham road, about 5 or 6 years ago. It put dings and dents into my old Chevrolet truck, with good heavy sheet metal , and never got them taken out, still got the truck! Did ping pong ball size, damage any cars? We would have gotten that 200% JB was predicting!
