Well the watch does explicitly say that the storms will eventually merge into clusters of multi-cells.. So that shouldn't be a surprise. Still poses the risk for damaging hail and winds. If the storms can get linear enough bowing line segments will be the main threat for sure and up the chance of more widespread storm reports. 15 mins of hail reported in VA with areas getting the ground completely covered....
