Heavy Rain/Gusty Winds/Record Warmth

Recommended Posts

For several days the models have been advertising a strong cutter, sending a surge of unseasonably warm temps, high dew points and instability into our region.

After backing off somewhat yesterday, the modeling is once again favoring a heavy rainfall event with the possibility of > 2" locally in a very short period of time.

The 12z NAM is forecasting near record warmth on Sunday.

Was just about to post that. Jersey shore reports of moderate flooding and Brookville Blvd on Nassau/Queens border which is shut down due to two vehicles stuck in high water. NWS went with a coastal flood warning for Nassau County back bays expecting moderate flooding.

Yeah North Brooklyn as well. Not comparing the two obviously but the water hasn't been to this stage since Sandy. At least not for the back bays of queens and brooklyn. I can't speak for the jersey shore.
