IsentropicLift
For several days the models have been advertising a strong cutter, sending a surge of unseasonably warm temps, high dew points and instability into our region. After backing off somewhat yesterday, the modeling is once again favoring a heavy rainfall event with the possibility of > 2" locally in a very short period of time. The 12z NAM is forecasting near record warmth on Sunday.
Brian5671
Let's hope this storm sets the table. Reminds me of an event last year on MLK weekend which ended up being our last rainstorm for awhile. Regardless, looks like quite the dump of rain and surge of mild air ahead of the cold front.
donsutherland1
The 12z GFS showed a 65° reading for NYC. No other place near the City or in the City (LGA and JFK) were close. It will be interesting to see the 18z figure.

Not comparing the two obviously but the water hasn't been to this stage since Sandy. At least not for the back bays of queens and brooklyn. I can't speak for the jersey shore.
