Should be interesting to see if our local NWS offices change their forecasts now that the GFS has trended to the euro, wont be able to cling to the 50 degree high and rain forecasts.

TV will be interesting too. If things hold together, it'll be interesting to see what Piotrowski and the guy on 13 have to say. They're usually hesitant to get excited about snow events.

And rightfully so...even with this turn in the models, we look marginal at best. There is lots of time and lots will change. Ed made the same call I did and we'll be doing the dance for a while now until things are more certain.

Piotrowski just said this on his facebook page.

The latest version of the GFS is more in line with the European model. Simply put, the trend is toward colder and snowier weather Christmas Afternoon and night. MUCH too early to be confident in snow for us, but it sure bears watching. If you are dreaming of a white Christmas, you may not have to go far. We'll keep you updated through the week since things are likely to change.

sounds like hes about ready to get on board.

Well. I"m done with radio shows! I tried 3 times to answer calls , from Georgia, Alabama and Dan's question. I heard the question fine, and they assumed I hung up. After not being allowed to answer the first 2 questions ( which I tried). DT got to answer both questions and I had plenty to say. Oh well. Maybe my call was dropped a long time ago, that would explain some things like not being allowed to answer the questions. Did anyone hear me try to answer?

At any rate, I'm pleased with the trends tonight of the GFS.

And it is still trying to throw up a storm around New Years. Man, this could be the grand slam of

Ga. snows. With this crazy blocking everything is possible....that thing up there now is a beast!! All we'd need is snow on Easter, and I've seen that already, on several occasions. We could be living the fabled Grand Slam Winter of 2010, lol. T
