They are discussing the GFS because it is running right now and comparing it to the previous runs.

bingcrosbyb
GFS so close to the Euro solution. Then it just starts looking weird around 84HR. Starts pounding the southern stream into nothing.

DopplerWx
GFS brings the northern stream in late, but it is an ecouraging trend. 200 miles south almost. Loving the low track for SC and GA, a perfect phase would be the icing on the cake. Were sittin pretty fellas.
GaWx
They finally mentioned ATL (I liked DTs little spiel about it being burnt down). This is a near perfect/classic Miller A track for sig. ATL-AHN snows.
dsaur
Folks, I do believe we have a Miller A on the 0Z gfs as of 78-84 hours. Yeah, this looks so much better. I'm beginning to believe! I remember reading you saying no major snow for Atl., but rather two or tree ice storms on Christmas. Am I remembering right? We are talking airport, right? I remember northern Atl areas getting snow on Christmas, but like dustings. I keep hearing different stories. Thanks, T
downeastnc
Looking more and more like a big hit for us in eastern NC but it also looks more and more likely that it is gonna miss Xmas . Had this same thing happen in 2004 and we got a nice little storm the day after Xmas but it was nowhere near as big as this storm.
DopplerWx
Verbatim how does the GFS look for temps? And qpf numbers? All snow in GA and SC? Radio show said it gives myrtle beach and wilmington decent snows.
