What a poorly modeled slopfest

from STL

THE EVENT DIDN'T QUITE

UNFOLD AS WE EXPECTED. INSTEAD OF THE SHORTWAVE ENERGY COALESCING

INTO ONE WAVE AND CLOSING OFF TO OUR NORTHEAST, IT STAYED

SEPARATED IN TWO VERY DISTINCTIVE VORTICITY MAXIMA.

wonder if the last part will surprise

1.2" as of now. 3" sounds reasonable.

Yeah it is a weird storm.

@SnowFreak - The one I got is 18", steel. It's not flimsy at all. 2-3mm thick

If I'm measuring snow at night, I can read it a little easier now.

Definitely getting excited about the latest trends for the NW OH/SE MI area.  Don't want to get my hopes up, but it's been par for the course this winter.  It's good to be hear btw.  I feel like i've entered an AA meeting  , but for weather nuts.  Good to be hear!

What is this all about?

I'm near Flint and I've seen forecasts from 1/2" of rain, to a dusting, to 6". It's like everyone is simply guessing as far as the forecasts go now. We've been getting teased by the edge of the rain for three hours now, temp is still 43°. Hard to guess what is going to fall at this point.

Tough forecast, no doubt...but a pretty good bust for IKK. WWA issued for 3-6" turned into a glorified car topper. But the 30 minutes of good snow was cool. I do wonder how LAF will fare with this second piece. IND has 2-4" in the advisory text for them. Currently it's 41˚/40˚ at the airport there.
