cyclone77
Not to beat a dead horse, but the RGEM shows subzero temps only 300 miles or so away from where rain is falling at 48hrs. Fairly tight baroclinic zone at the surface.
Hoosier
Looks like the GFS may trend a bit better on this run. Even so, nothing like the RGEM.
Geos
Never laugh. I figured you wouldn't like that. Luckily it's probably not the solution and there's still some time for changes. GFS; low 1006mb over Paducah.
Thundersnow12
Looks like the GFS may trend a bit better on this run. Even so, nothing like the RGEM. Looks like a slightly better phase and more NE-NNE moving defo band compared to the 18z run. 850mb low is also stronger compared to the last two runs thanks to the better phase and makes it into northeast IN

Geos
http://www.weather.gov/lot/2014Jan45_snow Thanks - I couldn't remember exactly. It was a fun one to track.
Stebo
http://www.weather.gov/lot/2014Jan45_snow I would be completely cool with this happening again.
Hoosier
I would be completely cool with this happening again. The heavy snow band was huge with that one. I remember Tim doing a post about how it may have been one of the most widespread 10+" storms in Indiana...basically everybody from IND northward had double digits. Had better cold air out in front and an absolutely brutal cold air plunge in its wake, so we'll fall short on both counts this time...even though it will get pretty cold afterward. Thundersnow12
Nice deepening GZ_D5_PN_060_0000.gif fairly similar track to the 12z run it looks like but the better phasing allows for the strong solution

featherwx
MKE will like the GGEM. I'm staying in MKE for this month so I'm rooting for what it was showing. If I don't see a good snowstorm during my visit I'm gonna feel cheated!
cyclone77
MKE will like the GGEM. So would the DVN crew ( if we had more than myself posting from this area). GEM/RGEM all on their own with their amped up/further west solutions. Unfortunately they're probably out to lunch and will slide east in future runs. Hard to argue against all the other models keeping things further southeast.
