Once it became clear that boundary layer up to 925 mb temps wouldn't really be an issue anymore, don't have a problem gambling on a setup like this. Rather that than worrying about it ptype transition issues then it snowing hard enough after the flip to get decent amounts.

Agreed.  Looks like there's a chance that I-55 eastward could start as rain but even if that happens, it should flip very fast.

Speaking of weenies, I noticed three things about this video:

1) He sure does mention Chicago a lot. Must be the only place that matters, right ALEK? :P

2) Chuckled when he almost drew a weenie and caught himself.

3) He circled my area in Michigan and put us in the "over 3 inches" category.

He really doesn't have a reason to sound like a weenie on this storm. It's not impacting central PA.

#2 was pretty funny though.

I think Henry M. sounds like a weenie quite often.

Freezing line at 6pm on Saturday, a little closer to the city than the 18z run.

6pm Saturday?

Yes. I was thinking about something on Sunday. lol

How's your glacier doing, Geos? I think I'll still have some left  I haven't really lost much of mine yet. More so just sort of melting on the edges.

Well it's not going to compact anymore, that's for sure. It's melting on the edges and it's not as rock hard as it was.

Hopefully it stays there awhile and acts as a good base for future events - not just this one.

Trust me that 2" sleet storm-more like5"- will be here in March.

Hah. It sure will make a good base! I have about 3 inches of glacier here.

Exactly! After this weekend, it's going to be ice on ice.

When comparing this NAM run to that of 24 hours ago, it really isn't that different. Definitely better looking than 24 hours ago! It was today's 6Z run that had headed west a bit.
