Surface was like 40F on this run again. yeah.. 2m too far out.. not sure of a storm at all etc.. but we aren't even close.. and i doubt the model is wrong by 8 degrees where we are. We would need heavier precip and a stronger storm further out.
NWNC2015
I'm too embarrassed to show the snowfall total map. Meh...I know in past years these "snow chances" are pure fantasy when they are on the immediate heels of a rain event like this one. Maybe we will know by Friday/Saturday once it clears through. Brad Panovich @wxbrad 1m1 minute ago I seriously would not be getting too excited about one model showing 0.40" of snow. snowlover91
The Canadian took a step towards the GFS tonight, I accidentally posted the comparison in the banter thread so I won't repost it here. The trend is closer to the GFS solution with stronger southern energy being shown on the CMC and a neutral tilt. Good trends.

ILMRoss
UKMET 983 ~100 miles east of HATThat's really impressive. Like, "maybe I should stay up for the euro" impressive. I bet we lose the problem of light qpf with a low like that, I'm already surprised there's not more qpf with a sub 1000 low off the nc coast as depicted on the 00z gfs. Must have something to do with moisture transport.

superjames1992
Through 108 18Z Para looks like it's coming in north and juicy No joke. Even juicier than 12z, which was already pretty good.
snowlover91
FWIW the CFS for the next 45 days averages BN across a good portion of the US. It has a period of 7-10 days where we go AN but the rest of the time is BN.

Shawn
00z euro has a robust system much further north. good first step. ensembles will likely increase for wintry. system tracks across south/central fl. not the worst look compared to 12z so south. cold air crashing in as it heads out to sea.. BIG FROSTY
Doc. Further north this run, baby steps, maybe?
griteater
Euro took a baby step north. Euro is simply dropping the PV low into the Great Lakes faster than the GFS, suppressing our gulf low.
snowlover91
Euro trending towards GFS, low in the Gulf is stronger and further north especially hour 108 we have a 1002mb low vs 1008 in the 12z run. Also much more qpf. Still too far SE but it's definitely a trend to a stronger and further N low like the GFS has.
