dryslot
I can venture a guess that the fine folks in NNH share a lot of the Vermont folks' opinions of this winter (and I bet in Maine they feel similar)...I'm not talking about posters on here but the general populous that likes to snowmobile and do things in the snow, and they are just over this winter. NNE'ers aren't used to a southern CT winter, haha, so it seems like most are just packing it in and looking towards next winter. Like its been so bad that people don't even care to see if it turns around at all...they are just looking on to next winter. I've seen a lot of winter events canceled into mid-March around these parts...regardless of whether we get a freak 2 footer or something on March 1. Its really been that bad when a lot of NNE hasn't even taken their sleds off their trailers and we will be heading towards March. It won't matter what falls now until the end of winter, The snowmobile season is lost for most over here, That's the reality of it

dendrite
Brian, what is beyond your cloud cam, what direction does it face, fascinating 4 hr loop, looks like you just missed a snow squall this AM The sky cam is facing north...I'm a little above 600' on the northern slope of my hill (Brown Hill). The top approaches 900'...the valley is the Winnipesaukee River at about 400'. I have a neighbor on the other side of those spruce trees and then the hill slopes off. The backyard cam faces west into the woods. http://en-us.topographic-map.com/maps/43.4331786,-71.6205192,43.4358765,-71.6178213/

tamarack
Another sad signpost of this winter in NNE. Aroostook State Park is about 5 miles south of PQI. "Due to melting snow conditions and threat to public safety we are canceling the Winter Family Fun Day at Aroostook State Park, scheduled for this weekend, February 20. If you need to discuss matters with me please call me at XXX-XXXX to discuss the process of getting the info out to the public. We can get info to all media out lets here in the North, we should get all outlets in the south notified by email and park & lands web site, along with trail conditions updates. Sorry and thank you." CapturedNature
oh that is a terrific site for highway webcams. never knew that existed. thank you! That's a good page to see cameras on one page. One of the pages that I really like is this one that the BTV WFO put together: http://www.weather.gov/btv/webcams I like how it has the cameras on a map and you can select the camera by location and that it includes all of New England, New York and nearby Canada. Pretty neat if you ask me. It takes time to put something like that together.
